This policy explains how Sewcial Dancer (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use sewcialdancer.com.

We are based in France and process data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French law.

Data we collect

• Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter or unlock a size calculator
• Calculator measurements — numbers you enter are processed in your browser to show pattern dimensions. We do not store your body measurements on our servers
• Newsletter signup — your email is sent to our server and email provider when you submit the form (with your consent)
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and server logs from our host for security and operation

Why we use your data and legal basis

• Newsletter — to send sewing tips and updates (consent; you can unsubscribe anytime)
• Calculator access — to unlock the tool after newsletter signup or via a private link from a PDF purchase (consent or performance of a service linked to your purchase)
• Hosting and security logs — to run a secure, reliable website (legitimate interest)

Cookies and storage on your device

We keep this simple. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking.

What we use:

• Session storage (not a cookie) — remembers that you unlocked a calculator in this browser tab. It is cleared when you close the tab
• Strictly necessary cookies — our host (Vercel) may set short-lived cookies for security and delivery of the site

What we do not use:

• Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
• Marketing or retargeting cookies
• Social media tracking pixels

Your choices: You can clear session storage by closing the tab or clearing site data in your browser. If you block all cookies and storage, parts of the site (including the calculator) may not work properly.

The newsletter form sends your email to us directly — that is not stored via a marketing cookie. You must opt in using the checkbox.

Third parties

We use trusted providers to run the site:

• Vercel Inc. — website hosting (USA)
• Payload CMS — website content and images (https://cms.vk-webdesign.com)
• Sender (sender.net) — email delivery for the newsletter, when configured
• Etsy — when you click through to buy a pattern; Etsy’s privacy policy applies to purchases there

Data may be processed outside the EU where providers host services. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep data

• Newsletter — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data
• Calculator session — until you close your browser tab
• Server logs — for a limited period, as defined by our host

Your rights

Under GDPR, you may:

• Access, correct, or delete your data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)
